As a busy mother on the go, I make it a habit of spending time with The Lord first thing in the morning. I have found that spending time with Him in prayer and devotion at the beginning of my day just makes the day go smoother.  I have also found out that even with the best of intentions, I never get everything done by the end of the day.

In the devotional My Mother's Quilts, Ramona Richards shares heartwarming stories of her childhood and upbringing. Not only do we learn about her family and upbringing, but she give us insight into how quilting was intertwined in her life. At the beginning of each memory there is a Bible verse, and at the end of the memory there is a "prayer starter" that is a small prayer to get you started for the day.

As an avid quilter, I have many unfinished projects laying around my craft room for one reason or another. Each and every one of those quilts have been worked on by me and have a special meaning. The love, strength and comfort that Ramona feels from reminiscing about these quilts rings true to my heart.  This devotional is a must have for new quilters and experienced ones as well.

* I received a copy of this book at no cost for reviewing purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
