easter gifts

With Easter just around the corner, we are presented with so many choices of games and toys to fill the kids Easter baskets. One thing I like about Easter toys is that most of them are classic toys with a new spin on them, which really bridges the generation gap. It really touches my heart when my dad is on the floor teaching my kids to play jacks, spin tops, blow plastic bubbles or playing with silly putty. Below you will find 5 of my favorite Easter gifts to share with your chidlren this year.

glitter chalk

No matter how old the kids get, sidewalk chalk is a staple for Easter baskets.  I love seeing the older ones act like they are too old to play with chalk, but then I look down the sidewalk and see the amazing murals that they have created. Whether it's drawing a cute heart or a making a hopscotch layout, sidewalk chalk is always a hit. This Glitter Sidewalk Chalk  from Crayola has very vibrant colors and is full of glitter. When the sun shines down on your chalk creations, the glitter shimmers and takes your masterpieces to the next level.

Easter is not Easter without a good old fashioned Super Soaker! Families have soaked each other from head to toe for decades with this classic water gun. Now Nerf has produced the Super Soaker Artic Shock Water Blaster which has an Ice Drum that you can pack full of ice and deliver an icy cold stream of water to your opponent. This is going to be one of our most used toys this summer as we try to keep cool in the warm Calfornia sun!

If you live West of the Rockies, then See's Candies is your go to chocolatier.  This San Francisco based company makes and hand dips their own chocolates and ships them all across the nation.  One of the best sellers at See's during the spring is their hollow chocolate bunny and it seems to make its way to many Easter baskets and Easter dinner tables as well. The creamy  milk chocolate is just perfect, and if you purchase them in one of the See's Candies locations, you will receive a yummy sample with your purchase.

This toy won't exactly fit into an Easter basket, but that's okay. This 5 foot inflatable Human Bubble Soocer Ball is sure to bring a whole lotta fun to the neighborhood. Simply inflate it and insert your body in the middle. You can roll around on the football field, bounce up and down the soccer field or even battle another person in their bubble. I recommend this toy for kids 10 and up, since it uses your body as part of the device.

Here's a gift that will continue to get use all through the year.  Pley is a toy subscription service that allows your child to receive the latest toys, doll clothing and accessories for a monthly fee. They can play with the toys for as long as they want, and when they want another one, just return your items in the postage paid envelope and they willr receive something new. Not only does this cut down on the amount of money that you will spend on toys this year, but it also cuts down on the amount of trash in your local landfill. Consider purchasing a gift card from Pley to tuck into their Easter basket this year.
