On October 22, 2015 Nordstrom Rack opened a new store in the old Pacific Sales building in Emeryville at the East Bay Bridge Shopping Center. Bargain shoppers lined up as early as 5am for a chance to win one of thirty $100 store gift cards as well as a $1,000 gift card. Coffee, water and pastries made the wait a bit more pleasant as i stood in line with 1,000 other shoppers eager to be the first one in the doors on this brisk Thursday morning.
Upon entering the 32,000 square foot store, we were greeted by a swarm of happy and enthusiastic Nordstrom Rack employees. The dj was spinning records as we danced our way into the store. The bright lights illuminated fancy cosmetics, blingy jewelry, designers shoes and stylish clothing. I was surprised to see how orderly everything was considering how many customers that were in the store at one time. There were even clearance racks in this brand new store!
Tory Burch is one of my favorite designers and of course I quickly found a pair of her signature flats. Luckily for me I had a $40 Nordstrom Note coupon from using my Nordstrom Debit Card in the past. I also snagged a pair of Naturalizer boots, and a sweater. The children's clothing selection was phenomenal and the men's clothing got two thumbs up from me as well!
The checkout process was painless and moved very quickly. Every shopper was given a Nordstrom Rack reusable shopping bag, and a $5 coupon to use on a future purchase. I will certainly be back to do some Christmas shopping in the upcoming weeks and to earn some more Nordstrom Notes to spend.
