A few weeks back I had the opportunity to drop in on little taqueria in Oakland, California. El Gusano is located amongst the hustle and bustle of Downtown Oakland. If you are not looking for it, you may just pass it by.
In addition to having a full bar that boasts 100 tequilas, mezcals and the best margaritas in town, El Gusano serves a wide range of Mexican cuisine that will have you questioning if you are in Mexico or the United States. From the hearty housemade tamales to the savory Barbacoa Enchiladas, every bite was better than the one before. The portions were HUGE and the price for a 3 item combo was only $12.95. This was enough food to feed four people.
So next time you are in the city of Oakland and have the craving for some authentic Mexican food, drop by El Gusano and they will hook you up!
