Motivational Monday

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. PROVERBS 23:7

The mind is a very powerful tool that not only controls our thoughts, but our future as well.  It can be a driving force behind our most celebrated accomplishments and it can also be the catalyst of the downward spiral into life's abyss.  However you decide to use this super power is going to dertermine your happiness in life.

I'm an advocate of positive thinking. While I battled cancer I filled my days with positivity from start to finish. At breakfast when I couldn't taste my food, I was thankful that I had food to eat. When I was at my chemo treatments, I was happy for the time that my sister and I got to spend together.  When the little stubbles of hair on my head were sore to the touch, I was thrilled to be able to feel sensations on my scalp period. There wasn't a day that went by that I considered death as an option when it came to cancer, because I had put my faith in God and my thoughts on positive thinking.

As you deal with the challenges of life today, I encourage you to focus on the solutions and not the problems.  Around my house we tell our problems how big our God is instead of telling God how big our problmes are.  It doesn't make the problems any less signifigant, but it gives me the space to allow Him to work on my behalf and I can continue to work thru whatever it is with the spirit of excellence. Just because I'm going through hell doesn't mean that I have to look like it. I choose to smile because the muscles in my face are working properly to allow me to do so, and I look pretty good with a smile on my face. I choose to laugh because not only does laughter release endorphins, but it calms fears and anxiety. Most of all I am more than a conqueror and I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.  With God, failure is not an option.
